SAKLIKENT CANYON & GIZLIKENT WATERFALL

WALKING INSIDE THE CANYON

WALKING INSIDE THE RIVER

The story of Saklıkent Canyon begins millions of years ago, during the geological formation of the Taurus Mountains, which stretch across southern Turkey. Over time, the forces of erosion, primarily from the Xanthos River, gradually carved out the limestone rocks, creating the deep and narrow canyon that we see today.

The name "Saklıkent" translates to "Hidden City" in Turkish, which is derived from the canyon's unique characteristics. During the summer months, when the snow from the mountains melts, the river swells and fills the canyon with icy-cold water. However, during the drier months, much of the water recedes, revealing a hidden paradise within the canyon.

Saklıkent Canyon, also known as Saklıkent Gorge, is a breathtaking natural wonder.

The story of Gizlikent Waterfall begins with the geological processes that shaped the landscape millions of years ago. Like many other natural wonders in the region, the waterfall owes its existence to the erosive forces of water and time.

Gizlikent Waterfall is located within a narrow canyon, accessible only by traversing through the cool and refreshing waters of the river that flows through it. The journey to the waterfall involves wading through the shallow stream and navigating through the rocky terrain of the canyon.

As visitors venture deeper into the canyon, they are rewarded with the breathtaking sight of Gizlikent Waterfall cascading down from the rocky cliffs above. The waterfall plunges into a crystal-clear pool below, surrounded by lush vegetation and towering rock formations.

The secluded setting and pristine beauty of Gizlikent Waterfall make it a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Visitors can swim in the cool waters of the pool, relax on the rocky shores, or simply marvel at the natural spectacle unfolding before them.
